For every paid camper, MVP provides a scholarship to an athlete in need.
Since 1994, MVP Basketball Camp is dedicated to providing quality access to summer camp and basketball development for over 1,000 campers from more than 30 Westchester County zip codes each summer.
This past Summer, MVP featured over 100 athletes at the incredible campus at Rye Country Day school for MVP’s annual NY Knicks Skills and Drills Week. The athletes worked all week on developmental skills and techniques that not only impacts their work on the court, but also as model citizens off the court.

Stan Greene founded MVP Basketball Camp as a 501(c)(3) organization offering hundreds of scholarships annually. He was fond of saying, “the world may be better because you were important in the life of a child.” More than twenty-five years and 7,500 scholarships later, Stan’s vision is still at the core of MVP’s Mission. More Than Just Basketball
Founded by Stan Greene, MVP’s profound commitment to inclusivity started with a vision and unwavering belief that “no child should ever be turned away due to an inability to pay.” More than 40,000 campers later, our scholarship program has grown to over 300 need-based scholarships awarded each summer, ensuring that financial barriers never impede a child’s access to enriching programs.

MVP Basketball Camp has merged with Backyard Sports Cares 501(c)3, and have been able to expand our reach significantly within our community. With more than fifty community partners throughout Westchester County, Backyard Sports Cares shares MVP’s mission and values with year-round programming for children who have limited access to quality sports and recreational programs. This includes before school, after school, weekend, and summer programming for underserved and at-risk youth as well as children with special needs.
